DERS Training

The six-hour online training prepares staff to use the tool for observation and continuous improvement, and includes a one-year subscription.

DERS training explains the research behind the DERS, orients users to the tool, and guides them through a series of video observations. Participants learn to identify, evaluate, and record classroom indicators which support development, and will leave the training session with a one-year subscription for unlimited use of the DERS app and a DERS Observer’s Certificate

Participants can complete training modules at their own pace within a sixty-day period.

Cost: DERS Training and Certification costs $435 which includes the first year’s subscription. Annual renewal is $130 per person.

Materials: Participants will need a computer and an iPad in order to complete online DERS training.

DERS Orientation

This three-and-a-half-hour online training provides an introduction to the DERS and guidance on how to understand DERS reports.

DERS Orientation reviews the research behind the DERS, introduces the items and indicators within the tool, and highlights key elements of DERS reports. Designed for staff who will be observed with DERS in their classrooms, this course prepares participants to understand and leverage DERS data.

Participants can complete training modules at their own pace within a sixty-day period.

Cost: $95 per person

Materials: Participants will need a computer to complete the DERS Orientation. An iPad is not required.

DERS Subscription Renewal

For DERS observers who would like to continue to use the DERS after their first year, an annual renewal of their subscription is necessary to maintain access to the DERS app and data.

Cost: $130 per person

Face-to-Face Training

Face-to-face training for groups can be coordinated for an additional fee.
